Dad's Prayer List

Today, while cleaning some things in her room, Mom found Dad's prayer list. Because he had Parkinson's disease, his hands were shaky and he had a hard time writing. I remember on several occasions, he'd ask me to come in and write someone's name on his list. You will notice, though, that most of the handwriting is his. The rest was printed from his old typewriter.

This prayer list shows something about what kind of man Dad was....
Simple.

But some of the names on this prayer list were those of people with which he only had contact once or twice. Somehow they left an impression on him, or he was in some way impressed to pray for them.

I just wanted to share this...thought you might enjoy seeing it as much as I did.

"...the prayer of the upright is his delight."
Proverbs 15:8b

So glad you have some tangible memories of your Dad. He was such a special man! David enjoyed looking at the picture you took and even tried zooming in so that he could see the names.

*Hugs*!

Jolene, I'll send David a close up of both pages. I just love what he had written on the left-hand side of one of the pages: T J P D S A R E. Can you guess who that is?

Hugs from far away!

Greetings,

Thank you so much for posting this. I am going to be using this as an example of intercessory prayer in my sermon this Sunday. Would you mind sharing with me your Dad's first name so we can honor his work of prayer and his memory? Thank you so much.

Thank you for the information about your dad. I have this down in my notes and will share it with the congregation this morning. This is such a great example of intercessory prayer for our people to see and appreciate. We honor his faith and his life. Blessings to you as well and thanks for the opportunity to share this. James
